Strategic Plans for Associations

Intelligent Transportation Society of America (ITS America)

A strategic plan is a great opportunity for an organization to take action, connect with their associates, and create a mission that accelerates their services and programs to greater achievements. This summer, Rottman Creative Group (RCG) had the chance to design a classic strategic plan for the Intelligent Transportation Society of America (ITS America) to further their future endeavors and objectives. ITS America is a Federal Agency that encompasses the most accurate and intelligent transportation technology in the country, and promotes research, development, and effective collaboration both nationally and internationally in transportation’s versatile world. A design for ITS America would entail nothing less than a most professional, influential, and invigorating presentation of the organization’s developed strategies and value to the future of transportation technology.

ITS America is known for its expert intelligence and leadership status in the transportation industry. Thus, in its design, RCG wanted to incorporate a professional, bold, and cutting-edge approach to enhance their strategy. RCG began with a smaller, 7x11 style booklet that vitalized the strategic plan’s individual significance apart from other documents. The plan’s outer cover was clean and organized, with an ambitious orange background color that was later incorporated into the 4 main goals of the organization.

The cover also integrated subtle stars and stripes for a patriotic element in the orange background, and a captivating graphic that embraced a blend of both technology and transportation. The graphic intertwined both acceleration and movement—two major fundamentals to portray an onward vision.

With clarity and precision, the beginning of the Strategic Plan booklet included a brief biography of ITS America, their vision, mission, definition, and essential principles that guided the organization’s priorities. RCG’s design contained a satisfying amount of central photographs and commendable excerpts that accredited the organization’s substantial impact on society. Finally, the project’s purpose was unveiled onto four individual pages that elaborated on member involvement, development and application, leadership, and optimal organization. Assessments and improvements were integrated into a series of ambitious points within each strategy, which concentrated on specific developments, as well as broader undertakings. RCG was also able to incorporate ITS America’s concern for the environment by including a conscientious environmental impact statement, which promoted awareness for responsible printing methods. In its entirety, ITS America’s Strategic Plan design resulted in an articulate and professional piece that optimized the organizations embarkation for higher achievement.
